Kairos Creature Club Biography
Kairos Creature Club (KCC) is a new project from Lena Simon (La Luz) and Glenn Van Dyke (BOYTOY). After years of playing in bands confined by genre, Van Dyke and Simon founded KCC definitively as an exploration of music. As an ever-evolving project, KCC is fueled by collaboration, the duo seeking out individuals who are moved by the moment, and subsequently capturing the minutiae when different combinations of artistry and creativity collide.
While the project as a whole is about kismet and synergy, this new S/T full length (out June 7 on Greenway Records) has Simon and Van Dyke taking the reins as producers and flexing as songwriters. In the wake of habitual acquiescence, the duo felt it was important to realize the album’s song concepts from an individual voice. In turn, this record serves as a measure of growth, a moment for the duo, individually, to say, "I am enough and I choose you!" rather than rely on broader collaboration as a crutch. It's a record about conflict, catharsis and indulgence. It's vulnerable, and is posited as bait to entice future members.
