About this concert
California-based singer, songwriter, dancer and all-around creative force ASHLEY MAHER has been cooking up rich musical stews with West African music (particularly Senegalese mbalax) for decades. In recent years, she has recorded albums 5, 6, and 7 in Dakar, Senegal and has performed internationally.
This show at The Mint LA will be her first live performance in Los Angeles since selling out the Blue Whale in 2010. Ashley names her band “Dox Dajé,” which means "a magical meeting” in Wolof.
She will be joined by musical titans:

Ashley Maher Music Biography
For decades, California-raised, ASHLEY MAHER has devoted her life to building musical bridges with West Africa. Since Virgin Records UK released her first two albums worldwide to critical acclaim, she has performed internationally and shared the stage with African icons such as Youssou N’Dour and Salif Keita. Since 2007, Ashley’s passion has been Senegalese mbalax music. She has traveled over twenty times to Dakar, Senegal to record, perform, film, and collaborate with top mbalax musicians, dancers, and artists. She recorded her seventh album, Made in Senegal, at Papis Konate’s busy Dakar studio in 2019.
