Tomorrow Biography

Beginning in the fall of 1994, Tomorrow was borne of the need to improve the outlook of the life of its founder, James P. Reese, Jr. Having barely survived his last band Everglade's towering inferno in self-doubt, improvement was the only answer. The first incarnation of Tomorrow lasted nearly six months, then found itself looking to the past to gain support from Everglade's drummer Bruce D. Phillips. With the feeling of comradery intact, Tomorrow recorded and released their first two singles themselves and embarked on the first of many tours to come. This first outing led to the release of "Songs Of The Tinmen," a split 11" on No Idea Records with the ever popular Hot Water Music. Some line-up changes occurring with bass and guitar players never hindered the optimistic viewpoint Tomorrow has championed. Striving forward, the band has since released songs on various compilations including No Idea and Blindspot samplers as well as Polyvinyl Records’ "Direction", with bands such as Rainer Maria, Boilermaker and the now defunct (Soon to be back in action, Jackson!) Braid. This connection led to a summer tour with Braid and "The Industry of Natural Occurrence", a four song cd EP dedicated to their new friends from Urbana. Other significant tours with Joshua (Doghouse Records), Sarge (Mudd Records) and shows with the likes of Elliot, Pegboy, Jets to Brazil, Karate, Sensefield, the Get Up Kids, Mineral, Rainer Maria, Ida, Compound Red, Gloria Record, Julianna Theory and Samiam have proven that Tomorrow can hold their own. The last and most stable lineup to date, included Ryan D. Hess and Chris J. Deininger, had given the band a strong sense of ability and accomplishment. Writing more and better songs than ever Tomorrow released its last cd "Build A Brand New Sky” on Schematics Records and is at the moment preparing to record again for a more substantial release. Tomorrow believes in, and is determined to prove itself through, its music and its music alone. (Editor's note) Said recording was finished, titled "Parade of Your Best Thoughts", yet never released. Seven Years, Thirty Songs, Two Covers, Two 7 Inches, One Split 11 Inch, Two EP's, One Album, Four Tours, Zero Commercial Success, All The Hope In The World!
