RubyHoo Biography

RubyHoo is the new young Pop/Indie Rock band on the scene! Hailing from Perth Western Australia, RubyHoo have captivated the interest of many fans with their diverse range in songs. RubyHoo held their first show in December 2022 and after only a few months of gigging they managed to host a sold out show in the heart of Fremantle. The lead singer and rhythm guitar player Matthew Preston is responsible for the melodie’s that will keep their tunes in your head for a handsome amount of time. Josh Gallagher having had a few years of experience playing live under his belt knows what to bring to the table, from shredding solo’s to playing sweet Pop melodie’s on his guitar he knows how to take control of an audience and have all eyes on him. When people watch RubyHoo shows they often are shocked to find out how little they’ve played for how tight they can keep a song from start to finish, this brings me to the rhythm of the band... Brodie Cook who was once known for shredding Led Zeplin’s solo’s made a smooth transition into a Bass guitar, little did everyone know that this man can drive a song through a brick-wall and act like it’s just another day in the office. Christian Passalacqua, the beloved drummer from RubyHoo knows what’s up when it comes to a beat. When it comes to keeping the crowed full of energy he never fails to supply, from drums fills to a stripped back Pop groove it seems effortless time and time again. All members from RubyHoo met at WAAPA University, without hesitation they formed an ensemble for an assessment and it all clicked, they were born right there and then. Matthew Preston was singing the classic “Ruby Tuesday” by the Rolling Stones before a show at the Indian Ocean Hotel when suddenly Christian Passalacqua spoke, “What about the band name “RubyHoo” instantly they knew it was the perfect fit. RubyHoo has piles of tracks to be released and will surely make a tear through Western Australia, it’s only a matter of time.
