Having begun the process of reinventing themselves as a heavy band several records ago, Rat Wars is a dystopian, painfully horny fever dream that may just be the zenith of their evolution - HEALTH at its most fully formed after years of collaboration and experimentation, all the while cultivating a passionate fan base that not only follows their every move, but actively takes part in the band’s extremely online community. Joining them on all dates is the genre-pushing Brisbane-based trap/metal/industrial/emo artist Zheani and the Melbourne duo of Joshua Wells & Karina Utomo whose largely improvised and experimental collaboration focuses on live drum machine manipulations paired with extreme vocal dissonance.

Zheani Biography

I Hate People On The Internet, the 2022 EP by Brisbane-based singer, songwriter and producer Zheani Sparkes, ended with a song that found solace in nihilism. “We know life’s not fair now, baby, don’t be scared now,” she sang on “We’re All Going To Die,” “We’re all going there and we’ll be happy there.” After a record that drew power from strife and hatred, it was a surprising twist—an acknowledgement that if this world is, indeed, bullshit, ending in death for those good and bad alike, we might as well just accept it.
