The Scarlett Tangerines Biography

In the winter of 2018, while living in San Diego, Heidi began writing and working on music for a project. She had no structured idea of where the project was headed or what it would become. In January, she sat down with a friend named Jack and wrote two songs - Bandaids, and The Night. Heidi had ambitions to continue writing, and due to creative differences chose to part ways with Jack. After much auditioning, a band was formed that wrote the beginning of what would be an upcoming album. In May of 2019, the band chose to split due to creative differences. Heidi paired up with a couple local bands to work on the back end as a manager while she continued to write and search for a replacement group of artists to collaborate with. In August of 2019, Heidi relocated to Minnesota to spend time with family and focus on personal matters. In September of 2019, Heidi met Greg Klein. Their musical ambitions and preferences matched, and they started working on putting a new project together. Within a few weeks, Cole Jorgensen joined the project as a second guitarist. The trio struggled to find a drummer, and cycled through a number of people, but continued to practice, write, and plan despite the difficulty. In October of 2019, Sam Strajack responded to an ad looking for a bass player. He had struggled to find his own project after leaving his band in Iowa and relocating to St. Cloud. His creativity matched what the project was looking for and a group was formed. Greg reached out to a childhood friend, Joe Leppala, as a last stretch to find a temporary drummer. Joe felt the music resonated with him and decided to sign onto the project long term. The band recorded their self titled EP and it was released on December 31st, 2019. After recording, however, Sam decided not to stay with the project. The band immediately began looking for a bass player. Alex Litsey had inquired about the band early on but for personal reasons had chosen to go a different direction. After Sam parted ways with the band, Alex noticed their ad for a bass player. After listening to the demos he was intrigued and reached out again, asking for an opportunity to try out. The band was impressed with Alex's background in music, and he fit right in.

Their self titled album, The Scarlett Tangerines, is now available on every major streaming platform. The band is currently booking shows in 2020. If you're interested in booking a show, please reach out via facebook or email scarlettangerines@gmail.com
