About this concert
Apple Shakers - Dynamic Duo in the Royal Blood mould I guess, some real nice riffage and at times there's a nigh on Groundhogs vibe and that's gotta be good- see also Foos, QOTSA, Black Keys. The most recent Damn Vandals album 'You Me The Devil And the Sunshine' kinda crept out between lockdowns and caused a stir but there were of course no gigs...now there's another album imminent, but let's play ketchup promo-ing the last one too, good to have DVs back in the DC 4 sure. Recorded live at Konk Studios – helping to capture the visceral energy of the band’s shows, produced by Julian Simmons who was at helm for their debut LP ‘Done For Desire’ and follow-up ‘Rocket Out Of London’ – which was an Artrocker Magazine 'Album of the Month' "What rock music should sound like” 5/5. “It’s difficult not to get caught up in Damn Vandals’ punked-up stoner rock … a forceful identity that’s held together by adrenaline and determination.” Classic Rock Magazine... The Volunteered - Built To Spill, Guided By Voices, Modest Mouse, Belle and Sebastian, lead guitar guy jumps on his pedals and widdly widdlies wonderfully well! Debut album, out about now on Scratchy Records.

Apple Shakers Biography

Apple Shakers are an alt-rock two-piece comprising of Rory White (guitar/vocals) and Basil Steiner (drums/synths). With a no-holds-barred DIY aesthetic, they are a fusion of Rory's gut-wrenching, guitar riffs, led by his lyrically wry & acerbic sociopolitical observations - aided by Basil's brash metronomic beats & bass-driven synths. Fiercely independent, the band have released a series of potent, punk-infused singles since 2020, attracting the attention of BBC Introducing and Tom Robinson (BBC 6 Music) and Alyx Holcombe (BBC Radio 1); whilst embarking on several highly inflammable live shows and festivals in the UK and Europe, including securing a slot at Glastonbury 2023.
