Yellofox Biography

Yellofox plays contemporary Americana. Imagine "on the road through America with a trunk full of ideals and dreams," and you'll capture the essence of Yellofox.
Singer/guitarist Marc Mosmans and singer/cellist Jorieke de Vet are the artistic core of the six-piece band.
Live is Yellofox a performance filled with stories, grooves, intensity, and energy. Their melodies and harmonies are reminiscent of the great harmony-rich American folk rock bands. The unique combination of cello, violin, mandolin, double bass, drums, and multiple guitars is enhanced by samples with snippets of text and obscure organs.
Their music is influenced by the songwriters of the '60s and '70s, like Paul Simon, Gram Parsons, Jackson Browne, and Nick Drake, but also by contemporary artists such as Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Eels, The Barr Brothers, and Fleet Foxes.
Yellofox’s message is clear: "For the Dreamers" is not just the title of their album. It’s an album full of songs about relatable themes: doubts, happiness, longing, dreams, and ambitions. The press described the second album as "an ode to melancholic dreamers, naive idealists, and loving bon vivants." And the duo goes beyond conveying their message through music alone, as Yellofox is multidisciplinary. Marc and Jorieke, both with backgrounds in art school, create not only the music and lyrics but they also make documentaries, music videos, designs, and all the unique artwork.
"For The Dreamers" (2023) is the follow-up to their debut album "Tomorrow Will Be Gone, It’s Sad To Know, But This Is Today" (2020).
After an intensive tour, they are now working with producer Martijn Groeneveld (known for his work with Blaudzun, Tangarine, among others) on their third album, with the first singles set to be released in the spring of 2025.
