J. Long Biography
La Marque, Texas, Christian recording artist and entrepreneur is a multifaceted artist who was gifted with many talents; often being called the Christian version of with the sole purpose of sharing his gift to the masses and being an inspiration. is no stranger to the music industry as he hails from a musical family. His uncle, Huey Long, was a singer and guitarist of the legendary group, while his grandfather, Curtis Long, was the highly sought after guitarist who played for musical icons & Bobby Blue Bland.
says “I came to realize nobody but God was going to do anything for me and I had to step out on faith.” It was those same words that motivated the young artist to establish his very own independent record label, JFAM ENT, alongside his younger brother K.Bell in 2004. Things really took off in 2009 for when a single from his debut album, peaked at #4 on Billboard’s single sales chart.
Shortly after, J.Long’s successful records sales & performances caught the attention of R&B Group, Pretty Ricky. He signed with them as an unofficial member, and they went on to remake his hit single. After two years decided to leave the group, although he returned briefly in 2015 for an overseas tour.
After stepping off the stage, J.Long felt a need to reconnect with the Christ. He felt the trappings of success in the music industry had caused him to drift away from his faith and lose focus on his calling.
