De Amerikaanse garagerockband The Black Lips beweegt zich tussen blues, rock, doo-wop, country en punk. Er is een hoop gebeurd rondom de band, in 2002 overleed een dag voor de tour de gitarist van de band in een auto-ongeluk, ze wisselden regelmatig van platenlabel, creëren een hechte fanbase en ze waren te zien in de film ‘Let It Be’. Ook brachten ze in 2022 een deluxe editie uit van hun album ‘Good Bad Not Evil’ uit 2007. Dit is hun vierde studio album en in 2022 bestond het 15 jaar. Live is de band een echte must see en komt de muziek het beste uit. Verwacht een knotsgekke show met een hele hoop gekkigheid en misschien wel iets met kippen. Er kan on stage van alles gebeuren…

Black Lips Biography
Still considered one of the best live bands around today, Black Lips were born of DIY ethic, working their way from sweaty basement shows in Georgia to huge crowds at international music festivals (including a performance at Fun Fun Fun Fest that appears in Terrence Malick’s forthcoming film Song to Song) to tours in such far flung locales as India, Jordan, Cyprus, Egypt, Lebanon, Iraqi Kurdistan, the United Arab Emirates, and many more. Their new album, Satan’s graffiti or God’s art? vindicates Black Lips for sticking it out through many years of shifting trends and buzz bands; a sonically captivating document that is as creatively unhinged as it is precisely executed, one of the rawest and most expansive albums in the band’s storied history.
