About JJ Paulo
“When you talk about JJ Paulo, you are talking about a fantastic performer who in a Danish context throws completely new warm lights and sounds into the afrobeat, hip hop and r & b traditions, and who exhibits international format. ”- Gaffa
JJ Paulo was born in Tanzania and raised in Denmark he has cultivated traditional Tanzanian Sukuma culture all his life, and today he is proud that his music reflects just that. His concerts have often been described as a ‘kiss of African culture’, he is very much in touch with his roots, country and culture. His music and showmanship on stage have garnered several GAFFA nominations such as "Live Act of the Year” and “New Danish Name of the Year along with earning him the title as “artist of the week” on Swedish national radio (P3) and Sound of the week on Danish national radio (P3).
JJ Paulo often travels to Tanzania where his music is well received. His songs have been played on all the biggest radio stations such as Cloudz FM, East Africa Radio, Times FM with Lil ommy, etc. In November, he released his latest EP 'Baba Mufasa', which within two weeks got over 100,000 plays on Audiomack Africa. All 5 songs were chosen to feature on big afrobeat playlists alongside stars like Joeboy, Hamonize, etc. This was the first time JJ Paulo released music on Audiomack Africa.
