The Pioneers Biography
The Pioneers are a Jamaican reggae vocal trio, whose career began in the mid-1960s. The group was formed by brothers Sydney and Derrick Crooks, and their friend Winston Hewitt. Their early music was influenced by ska and rocksteady, but they became more associated with the emerging reggae sound as their career progressed. The Pioneers are known for their tight harmonies and catchy melodies, which helped them gain popularity both in Jamaica and internationally.
