Grand Sun Biography
Grand Sun is a happy accident: part intentional exercise, part catharsis. Their shows are urgent and
electric. Their music is hinged on themes of existentialism and whimsy and three years after their last
record - Sal y Amore -, the band has changed. In spirit, they’re still the same lads, but they’re ready to
conceptualize new sonic paths on their sophomore record to be released in 2024. In their latest singles,
“Something More" and "Conceptualize", the Lisbon based band band sees itself riding a post-punk
wave, where the gothic and the dreamy side of bands like Echo & the Bunnymen, The Chameleons and
Cocteau Twins influence them, and they look towards the UK as a reference point, taking influence from
modern bands like THUS LOVE and Shame revealing a new identity for their rock’n’roll. More creative,
more punk, no less (somewhat) naïve, no less (very) youthful. Now, with “Something More”, their latest
single, they showcase their newfound maturity. They grew up a little bit more, bear in mind. They are in
search for something extra. And they’ve found it.
