Paradigm Shift Biography
Hailing from Dallas, Texas, these two young men seek to set a new example among their peers, "We are called to be witnesses in all that we do, and this is not a responsibility to be taken lightly, it follows us to the most secret corners of our lives." It is with this clear direction that Trent and Christian set out to test the waters to see what kind of response they would receive to their music.
Paradigm Shift worked together for three years developing their sound before recording and releasing their self-titled independent EP. Then they went on to create the biggest buzz of any unsigned group at this year's Cornerstone Festival. It was through this breakout performance that they came to the attention of N•SOUL/Velocity Music Group's founder Scott Blackwell. After a whirlwind of faxes and phone calls Trent and Chris signed to record for N•SOUL records new sub label, Velocity.
Paradigm Shift's full length debut release incorporates the classic funk grooves and infectious hooks from the 70's into the Digital domain of the 90's. Paradigm Shift's music is a slower form of dance music in which the beats are funky and the music is spacy. Often referred to as "Trip Hop" Chris and Trent's music has been more aptly described as "Trip House".
