Genesis Fermin

Armed with a guitar, drums and an enigmatic, mournful voice, Genesis Fermin wades against the currents of today’s generation of singer-songwriters. She is all about well-crafted songs that reveal her ambitions, doubts and regrets. Her melodies reflect her soul and her words are snapshots of her life. Genesis' heartbreaking renditions of David Bazan's songs (of Pedro The Lion) has earned praises from the artist himself, describing her as an artists who "is deadly serious. Her redemption comes from her singing songs and playing drums, and the music is in her in a way that I haven't seen in a lot of folks."

A musical polyamorist, Genesis holds up much of the musical world in the East Bay and generously bestows her talent to Easy Queen, MILF!, Ladykillers, all-female Judas Priest worshippers The Halford Wives, and the newest addition to Oakland's very own true folk rock band Invincible Vacuum Cleaner Co.
