Shumba Youth

Shumba Youth is fast becoming a household name in the London Reggae scene. You can catch him regularly stirring up Reggae and Hip Hop riddims across the capital. Roots and culture are a powerful influence in this young artists style. His message can be heard loud and clear above the basslines of dub, dancehall, jungle and afrobeats.
Whilst performing across the UK and Europe, he has recently shared the same stage as Dawn Penn, Tanya Stephens and Chuck Fenda to name a few, he has also taken himself to festivals both in the UK and abroad. Rototom Sunsplash, Boomtown Fair, Ostroda and One Love Festival have all showcased Shumba Youth’s future roots style.
He has worked with a variety of producers such as Single Dread Sound, Marvellous Cain and Marcus Visionary and is releasing his first Solo EP project “Hot Like Lava" on Reggae Roast Label, Spring 2017.
When he’s not centre stage performing, he often plays MC or host to some of the top DJs in the game. He has worked regularly as MC for the likes of Iration Steppas, Mungo’s HiFi, Ray Keith & Mad Professor, as well as being resident Mic man for Rompas Reggae Shack and Reggae Roast Sound System
As the founding member of Positive Views Crew, with a vast foundation of work under his belt, this young veteran on the UK bass scene is constantly seeking out new ways to share his message. 2017 is a big year for Shumba Youth with many more collaborations in the pipeline.
