The Agents Biography

The Agents have proven to be a band that can’t be ignored. The group’s logo proudly displays the skyline of Providence, Rhode Island, where the band is from. "The small town with the big sound" is how The Agents like to think of their hometown. Jason Dalomba (vocals, guitar) and Dawn Maguire (trumpet) formed The Agents in February 1995 and joined forces with Frank Moniz (sax) and Jason “Deuce” Medeiros (Bass) to take their energetic blend of ska, rock steady, and reggae throughout the U.S.A. This crew is anchored with drummer Krys Jackson and has recently shook up their lineup with Frank Moniz jumping off Sax and onto lead guitar thus making room for the bands newest member, Brian Venditelli on Sax. The Agents pay homage to tradition. Whether it's their name, logo or sound, they give respect to their roots. The Agents play an artful blend of two tone and traditional ska while weaving in the sounds of reggae, rock, pop punk, soul and surf. The group’s debut full-length CD released on Radical Records, For All The Massive is a grand mixture of Traditional Ska, Reggae, Swing and Surf. The albums track “Gratidao” quickly rose to the top, placing number one for 11 weeks on the playlist of local radio station 95.5 WBRU, voted one of the top 10 college radio stations by Rolling Stone Magazine. The groups follow up album, 401(2000) displays the groups eclectic influences and special mixture of style and sounds. Reviews describe the album as “very rich”, “moving”, and “catchy as hell”. In June 2012 the group self released their third album, "Steady Forward" a blend of ska, soul, reggae and rock. The album was mixed, mastered and co produced by music industry great Andrew “Stoker” Growcott. The album quickly sold out of the bands first pressing in its first 4 months. Due to their diversity and fan base, The Agents have had the opportunity to play with a variety of bands, including: The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Slightly Stoopid, The Specials, Marcys Playground, The English Beat, Fishbone, The Amazing Royal Crowns, Pilfers, Burning Spear, The Skatalites, HepCat, Mephiskapheles, Skinnerbox, Stubborn All-Stars and more Steady Forward......
