Dylan Stewart Biography

Dylan Stewart is a singer/songwriter from the rural southern Oklahoma town of Ringling. His music seamlessly bridges the gaps between genres such as Folk, Americana, and Alt-Country. Stewart’s songwriting captures that of love, loss, death and despair shedding light on the instances of the dark and the desolate. With whiskey-worn delivery and poetic storytelling that follows the likes of Bob Dylan, Townes Van Zandt, and Tom Skinner.

"My songs have strangeness and darkness to them; sometimes maybe tucked into a happy melody. Religious undertones and outlaw themes; drugs, death, redemption, and fate. I used to try to fight that direction when writing. I was afraid of myself I suppose. Now I embrace it. I think it came from growing up in church."
-Dylan Stewart

"I first heard Dylan in a cheap motel room in Ardmore, OK. He was intent on me hearing his songs. Well I recorded an album with him. He was right. The world should hear his work. A true artist."
-Mike McClure(The Great Divide)

"Dylan Stewart is an amazing artist that has somehow to this point gone under the radar. His music reminds me of why I fell in love with the songwriting of Townes Van Zandt."
-Shayne Hollinger/Creative Director 95.9 KFWR FM The Ranch (Fort Worth, TX)

"Dylan Stewart, a great songwriter from Oklahoma. I think he is one of several Okie's who seem to be taking over the world right now in terms of songwriting talent."
-Adam Carroll (Singer/Songwriter)

With four studio albums under his belt, Pay The Fiddler(2012), Dylan Stewart & The Johnny Strangers(2013), Dylan Stewart and The Eulogists: Giving Up The Ghost(2016), and The Scarecrow Sessions(2019), and a consistently never ending tour schedule that spans over a decade’s worth of miles traveled making this modern day vagabond a seasoned songwriter with a inimitable dynamic that is all his own.
