Johnny Foreigner Biography

There are two artists using the name Johnny Foreigner.

1) Johnny Foreigner is a guitar pop group from Digbeth in Birmingham, UK. They like to scream a bit and sing a bit. They like a bit of a drink and get flustered and glowy when they read good press. They have been playing together since December 2005.

their first two singles (sometimes, in the bullring and yes! you talk too fast) were put out at the end of 2006 and the start of 2007 by a nice man called ren who runs the laundrette recording company in sheffield. they were played on the radio and people wrote loads of nice things about them on teh internetz.

they became national tv failures after failing to win a channel 4 battle of the bands to open V festival 2007. undeterred, they continued touring throughout the year by train and hire car and national express till they had literally NO MONEY LEFT

in autumn 2007, they signed a deal with Best Before Records. the first release was an ep released in october called "arcs across the city".

in december the band moved to new york for a month to record an album proper. "johnny foreigner waited up till it was light" was released in spring 2008. the album has so far yielded 2 singles - "our bipolar friends" and "eyes wide terrified" with a 3rd, "salt, pepa and spinderella" being released at the start of september.

the band toured constantly from january to june 2008, and is now preparing for a summer of festivals and sitting at home trying to write brief 3rd person resumes of their superfun careers.

2) Johnny Foreigner is a "post-punk glitch-funk rapper" from London, UK who now resides in the "Wild" West Midlands after being extradited from the capital as part of a local council relocation scheme. His sound has been described as "a mash-up of Ian Dury's Blockheads and The Streets with the attitude of Frank Butcher off 'Eastenders'".

He has recorded one double A side 3" CD single 'London Blues/Pete Doherty', which was released in 2005 on Fuck Off Back To The Countryside Records. His whereabouts are currently unknown.
