Tony Kamel (formerly the front man of Wood s shows, both solo and w/ a full band, showcase his versatility as a multi-instrumentalist and compelling story teller - going off the cuff and engaging with the audience, playing guitar and clawhammer banjo for a night of entertainment beyond some dude simply singing his songs. Whether its a raucous festival crowd, or a listening room, he finds a way to sync up with the folks hes in the room with. But really, its all about the songs. For that he teamed up with legendary Texas songwriter Bruce Robison and his analog focused production company (The Next Waltz) for his debut solo record of original tunes, Back Down Home - which held the #1 spot on the Alt. Country Charts for three weeks. With new songs, some newfound viral fame, he went back in The Next Waltz studio this spring to record his follow up set for release this fall. Tony Kamel Biography
Tony Kamel is a Grammy nominated singer / songwriter based in Austin, TX. He's best known for his work as the front man for acclaimed bluegrass group Wood & Wire. As a solo performer, he gets the chance to flex different musical muscles by pulling from a different repertoire, playing clawhammer banjo, some electric guitar, and engaging with the audience on a more personal level by telling stories and working more off the cuff. He's recently teamed up with legendary songwriter Bruce Robison and his company The Next Waltz to record and release a solo record out in the Fall 2021
