Paper Army Biography
The Paper Army began in early 2012 when longtime songwriting partners Jon Faneuf (vocals) and George Senger (guitar) decided to start collaborating on some new material. After some rough song sketches, it was decided a new band was in order. Jamie Garofalo, a former bandmate was recruited for drums, as was Jason Rahn to fill out the rhythm section on bass. Once the lineup was complete and schedules were synchronized, the band started writing material for their first EP. The Paper Army is a classic guitar driven hard rock band blending influences from AC/DC to Humble Pie with the attitude of Guns N' Roses. Their style is “bare-boned and brass-knuckled, music that is becoming rarer these days,” comments the RattRocker music blog. It “sounds as if the band is in the same room as you when played. You can’t resist knocking your head along with the solid rhythm section of Jay Rahn and Jamie Garofalo while guitarist George Senger lays down melodic rock riffs and solos. Singer Jon Faneuf’s unique voice fits many different genre’s and styles of music from straight ahead hard rock... to the more bluesy,” RattRocker further states. Song writing and rehearsing progressed throughout 2012 and the band went into the studio in December of 2012 to record their debut EP, When You Lie. The record was released in March 2013. The guys are planning on some summer shows to support the EP and plan to be back in the studio to record a follow up EP by years end. The band has one mission, to write, record and perform bare bones, Rock ‘n’ Roll. It's only Rock 'n' Roll, but you'll like it.
