Het is een zeldzaamheid dat een band meer dan een kwart eeuw blijft bestaan, laat staan met dezelfde passie als in hun beginjaren. In de jaren negentig brachten ze een frisse wind in het Nederlandstalige muzieklandschap. Met moderne rockklanken en pakkende Nederlandstalige teksten veroverden ze al snel de harten van velen. Hun hits, zoals "Stil In Mij" en "Alles Of Niets", groeiden uit tot anthems van een generatie, en hun debuutalbum werd een klassieker. Van optredens op grote festivals tot historische momenten zoals het huwelijksfeest van Willem-Alexander en Máxima, Van Dik Hout kleurde decennialang het collectieve muziekgeheugen. Desondanks waren de afgelopen jaar een mix van hoogte- en dieptepunten, met het overlijden van bandlid Oscar Kraal als dieptepunt.
