About this concert
CNTS CNTS are back! After a whirlwind of tragedies, both global and personal, guitarist Mike Crain (Dead Cross, Retox, Festival Of Dead Deer), drummer Kevin Avery (Retox, Planet B) and vocalist Matt Cronk (Qui) are back with new guitarist Koko Arabian and bassist Rico Adair and their sophomore release for Ipecac Recordings, Thought And Prayers. Following the release of their 2019 debut, Cunts, CNTS were able to squeeze in one short tour before the world went on hold. The lockdown was spent recording and plotting, in preparation for future CNTS endeavors. However, all plans would be shelved when Matt Cronk was injurred in a car wreck, resulting in a surgical mishap leaving him with a paralyzed vocal cord, unable to speak, let alone sing. CNTS heavy-heartedly announced their demise. During this period the members of CNTS pursued other projects until winter 2023 when, against the predictions of his doctors, Cronk’s injured vocal cord began to heal and within two months his voice returned. By March CNTS felt confident that they could give it another go. After gingerly returning to their studio, their first attempt to play again proved fruitful. Reinvigorated by Cronk’s recovery and their new lineup, CNTS spent the rest of the year hard at work on their new record, Thoughts And Prayers, the title inspired by the banality of our collective reaction to crises. With a great deal of inspiration from their recent challenges, CNTS have channeled several years of frustration and hardship into a well articulated and aggressive statement. Songs such as “Smart Mouth,” and “Thoughts And Prayers,” chronicle Cronk’s pain and anger throughout his various injuries and subsequent recovery. “I Don’t Work For You,” and “Eating You Alive,” deal with the inequity inherent in modern life. “For A Good Time (Don’t Call Her)” is a screed about the age-old theme of fighting with one’s romantic partner. Thought And Prayers is scheduled for release March 29, 2024, with extensive touring and world domination to follow shortly thereafter. https://cntsla.bandcamp.com/album/thoughts-prayers Conan Neutron & the Secret Friends ==== Big rock thrills in a post-punk package. Conan Neutron & the Secret Friends Biography

Spangle, and sass, small scale arena rock for smart alecks and malcontents. Big riffs, critical thinking, and big smart rock for freaks, nerds and weirdos.

They’ve shared the stage with the likes of: Mclusky, Tropical Fuck Storm, Chat Pile, Big Business, Torche, Poster Children, Fatso Jetson, The Weirdos and many more. They’ve toured internationally and they have a live show that must be seen to be believed.

The band’s live lineups has a revolving cast of players. Spangle, and sass, small scale arena rock for smart alecks and malcontents. Big riffs, critical thinking, and big smart rock for freaks, nerds and weirdos. Conan Neutron is a guy, Conan Neutron & the Secret Friends is a band. It is a band whose recordings featuring Dale Crover of the mighty Melvins on drums, Tony Ash of Trophy Wives, Dead Halos and Coliseum on bass and the production skills of the iconoclastic and enigmatic Toshi Kasai. The Secret Friends bring forth a wiry and adventurous rock ‘n roll that is equal parts Cheap Trick, fugazi, Queens of the Stone Age, the Cars, and DEVO with perhaps Mean Streets era Van Halen mixed in. Big rock, big riffs, heavy, hooky, a little strange. You get it. This is big rock music that has all the bombast and energy of the classic arena rock bands, but with punk rock attitude.

The live shows are generally a four piece lineup with a revolving cast of live players. Not always the same lineup, but still the same band. Always Neutron and Ash, always awesome. With a bench deeper than a baseball team Neutron, a rock ‘n roll lifer has spent the last 23 years making records and touring in such bands as Replicator, Victory and Associates and Mount Vicious, making uncompromising, sometimes challenging and daring rock music to anybody that is interested. The latest record is called Dangerous Nomenclature. A 3 song concept ep. This follows Dark Passengers: the 3rd full length album and 4th full length release by the band on Learning Curve Records. After a relentless and creative 8 year run so far, with love from college radio, press and crowds alike. Neutron Friends show no sign of slowing down at all. Some people may be more familiar with the podcast, Conan Neutron’s Protonic Reversal, but make no mistake about it. Neutron is a born rocker and very good at what he does and the Secret Friends in all iterations are a world class rock band.
