Mothfest 2024 celebrates the life of beloved Santa Cruz musician Dan Lamothe with a special event featuring music from Blitzkid, Dark Ride and Dog Party, plus specialty drinks, raffles and more! Proceeds from ticket and raffle sales will go to local charities in Dan's name. Blitzkid were crucial in the development and spread of the style of music that came to be known as horrorpunk, and remain one of it's leading exponents. The band is led by singer/bassist- Argyle Goolsby and singer/guitarist- TB Monstrosity. Formed in 1997, Blitzkid have released five indie and major label studio albums, appeared on numerous compilations and extensively toured nationally and internationally. DARK RIDE The Bay Area's premiere "Horror-Punk" band, Dark Ride has quickly established a following with their melodic, punk-rock anthems influenced by the likes of The Misfits, AFI and Alkaline Trio. Since the release of their debut EP in 2021 has played all over the US and will soon be releasing their first full length record "Blade Manor". The passion project of Santa Cruz native Emilio Menze (Stellar Corpses, Ambivalence, Plan 9). DOG PARTY Dog Party is a California-based, indie rock'n'roll band, composed of sisters, Gwendolyn and Lucy Giles. Compared with bands like The Go-Go's, The Ramones, The White Stripes, and The Runaways, Dog Party establishes their own unique west coast sound with a dash of punk and a sprinkle of pop. With 6 records and extensive touring under their belts, Dog Party has been active since 2007. In fall of 2016, they were the Special Guests on Green Day's Revolution Radio North American tour.
