About this concert
A spinoff of the annual UTOPiAfest, Eclipse UTOPiA offers the best seat in the house to the “Great Texas Twoclipse,” where the paths of last year’s annular eclipse and this year’s astronomical event will cross. Focusing on Texas-centric talent, the 46-artist lineup is headlined by soul-pop force Sir Woman, funk-driven electro-rock duo Ghostland Observatory, and Latin neo-soul searchers Caramelo Haze. Make sure to check out side quests like acroyoga, disc golf, and an abundance of featured workshops. Don’t forget your star-studded corsage for the anticipated space prom! Passes start at $350. – Miranda Garza

Dan Dyer Biography
Dan Dyer greets his second decade as a musician with a self-titled album. From this soul-revivalist recording, produced out of an old snake-charmer church turned studio on the East side of Austin, emerges a spooky, diaphanous, and bright release drawn from an ever-deepening soul.
Coming from humble beginnings in a small East Texas town, Dyer quickly rose to prominence in Austin during the late 90’s with the much-heralded band Breedlove. After many years of back-to-back releases and touring, Dyer took a few years to winter from performing - living in St. Louis, raising a family, and developing his own unique solo sound. Sensing a need to return to his roots as a musician, he started making trips to Austin in 2006, his musical birthplace, to advance his career.
His most recent self-titled release on Fat Caddy Records has a strong, underlying cadence that ties the album together and entices one to discover the many intrinsic subtleties. From the chain-gang inspired “Love Chain” to the gospel-tinged “I Walk On Guilded Splinters,” Dyer and producer David Boyle weave a diverse fabric that extends beyond conventional musical boundaries. There is always music in the haunts of Dyer’s wandering soul: the soul of a melodious character filled with talent that is impossible to chase away.
