About this concert
Deep-rooted in a lifetime love of traditional music, The Wilderness Yet continue to grow with the
seasons as they explore the many branches of song from the British Isles. With their ?simply
exquisite? three-part harmonies (BBC R6 Music), and their ?satisfyingly rich instrumentals? (The
Living Tradition), they have gained a cult following since their debut album was released to
critical acclaim in 2020. Their latest studio album, What Holds The World Together, was played
on BBC Radio 2, 3 and 6, as well as entering the Official Folk Albums Chart.
Singer Rosie Hodgson and fiddler Rowan Piggott are joined by guitarist Ben Filmer-Sankey in
this new line-up for 2024. Together, they entwine traditional material with their own ?precisely
observed, poetic, nature-centric songwriting? (Tykes? Stirrings), drawing heavily on the
connection between people and the environment. Expect to be swept away by a Wild
Northeaster one moment, only to be charmed again by The Beauties of Autumn.
?A timeless and heady mix of traditions? from three musicians at the top of their game."

?This trio has it all... bright new music & fresh interpretations of old songs.?

The Wilderness Yet Biography
The Wilderness Yet combines the acclaimed talents of folksinger Rosie Hodgson, traditional fiddler Rowan Piggott, and guitarist-flautist Philippe Barnes. Independently, they have earned audiences’ esteem as consummate musicians; together, they weave an eclectic tapestry of traditional and original songs and tunes; from a cappella three-part harmonies to luscious instrumental arrangements. Their eponymous debut album was released in 2020 to critical acclaim, closely followed by a short EP of commissioned covers called John O Dreams. Lockdown saw them record a winter album / show called Turn The Year Round, featuring secular re-writes of classic carols and carefully arranged seasonal favourites. Their new studio album, What Holds The World Together, was released on 21st July 2022.
