Kelly Jones Biography

Kelly Jones has shared a stage or recording studio with some illustrious names — Brian Blade, Buddy Miller, Daniel Lanois, Mike Viola and Adam Schlesinger are among them. She has followed her dream, and the promise of her golden voice, from her childhood home on a Washington horse farm, to Manhattan’s Lower East Side, and Nashville, TN. Now established in LA, Jones is an integral part of that city’s musical life and community. Her journey, reflected in her musical style, is a country-inflected mélange of west coast sunshine and east coast grit, swathed in an effortlessly sweet confidence. She takes rock, pop, and folk in stride, all the while showcasing her captivating voice and innate sense of melody. In addition to her solo work, Jones has been known to accompany other artists in a variety of ways: she's played bass and sung backing vocals as a part of Mandy Moore’s band on Ellen, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Jimmy Fallon, and The View. She tours Europe and Japan singing with Brian Blade's Mama Rosa project, and last year collaborated on the song, “Hot ‘n’ Hazy,” which was featured in the movie That's What She Said, directed by Carrie Preston and debuted at Sundance.
