About this concert
21+ / www.carolspub.comOn February 19, 2021, the Chicago music scene lost one of its biggest champions, Lane Campbell. At just 50 years old, Lane left us far too early, and his absence is felt throughout the venues and clubs Lane frequented for decades. Lane lived and breathed music, especially across the alt.country/indie scenes, promoting hundreds of bands and artists who he thought deserved a much wider audience. On July 12, 2024 we are proud to announce LcFest, an every-other-Summer music event honoring Lane and including live performances by the bands that he loved. This summers event will include four acts that Lane revered: Slobberbone, Frog Holler, Chip Robinson and Tyne Darling. This is the kind of bill that wouldve had Lane texting, making calls and promoting the event far and wide. We hope to see you there! This event is 21 and over. Any ticket holder unable to present valid identification indicating that they are at least 21 years of age will not be admitted to this event, and will not be eligible for a refund.GA Tickets do not include seating.

Slobberbone Biography

Slobberbone was an American alt-country band from Denton, Texas that formed in 1994. Slobberbone toured across america many times, and were regularly considered one of the best live bands in america. They were also known for having an unfortunate name that elicits an "eeeuuu" from whoever first hears of them. They consisted of Brent Best (guitar, vocals), Jess Barr (lead guitar), Brian Lane (bassist), and drummer Tony Harper (Although their lineup changed over the years).

The band released four albums, Crow Pot Pie, Barrel Chested, Everything You Thought Was Right Was Wrong Today, and Slippage. In early 2005 the band called it quits, and played a series of shows for their final farewell tour. Their concerts were well known for good rock and roll, booze, good times, and almost always at least one Neil Young cover song.

After breaking up Brent Best, Jess Barr, and Tony Harper of Slobberbone joined up with Keith Killoren and Chad Stockslager formerly of Budapest One to form a new band The Drams.
