Ruin Biography

RUIN is a thrash metal band from Portland Maine USA. Founded in 2005 by brothers Richard and Craig Carey. RUIN’s latest and self-released album Rite of Passage only further exemplifies the band’s precision, articulate expression, and discipline, in their pursuit of no-holds-barred thrash metal. With influences that range from Pantera, Anthrax, Sepultura, Meshuggah, and Metallica, RUIN was able to craft their unique sound that features a sense of groove, soaring leads, and in your face vocals. RUIN's original brand of thrash metal and devastating live shows quickly gained them a must-see reputation. RUIN has released three full-length albums independently and shared the stage with many great bands including God Forbid, Soulfly, Strapping Young Lad, and Fear Factory. RUIN’s line-up is rounded out by Kevin Whitman (Guitar) and Todd Bidwell (Bass) who each help magnify the sonic force that Richard and Craig envisioned. Craig Carey left the band in 2018 and has been replaced by Lee LeVasseur of the band Nobis. The bands latest release Rite of Passage has been brewing in the thrash metal underground, capturing the attention of new listeners worldwide.
