Chris Coleman Biography

Chris Coleman is a singer and songwriter with a passion for earnest rock music, folk and Americana.

His sound echoes the work of artists such as Ryan Adams, Wilco or Neil Young, but his songs have a personal approach to storytelling, closely related to the artist’s own experience and sensibility. Chris has been a country music fan ever since he can remember. He started playing guitar when he was only 5, equipped with a lot of eagerness to play along to some of the amazing classic records his grandma would put on: Johnny Cash, George Jones, Guy Clark, and many of the original country outlaws!

Over the past decade, Chris set out to refine his skills as a guitar player, touring with a wide array of artists. His first effort as a solo performer comes in the form of a debut LP, “The Reason I Leave”. The album was recorded live, in order to capture the essence of the songs in the most authentic way possible. As the title might point out, “The Reason I Leave” is a very personal record, inspired by Chris’ journey through life - these songs are all about the coming-of-age process of losing faith, only to find it again and gain more clarity than ever before. In order to focus on creating the most unique songwriting experience and get his thoughts out to paper, Chris moved to Utah for a month during the winter of 2016, so he could solely focus on writing these songs.
