LXMUSIC 20 YEARS - THE ORIGINAL LISBON RAVE | 08 PM - 06 AM at Garagem, Marvila.
E eis que passaram 20 anos, duas décadas de história, de inúmeras festas nos mais incríveis locais com os maiores e os melhores artistas do mundo, de momentos especiais e sempre envolvidos por aqueles que gostamos e que sempre nos acompanharam.
Gostamos de olhar para trás e reconhecer o caminho percorrido até aqui. A música é a protagonista da nossa história. Num processo de metamorfose, onde o comum se transforma em algo extraordinário, num palco de euforia, onde juntos já vimos tantas noites virarem dias.
Este ano sopramos as velas. E por cada uma reforçamos o desejo de ter fôlego para continuar a respirar ao ritmo das melhores frequências. E se no princípio era o verbo, o verbo era Dançar. Como meio e sem fim. Porque o tempo não se mede, vive-se a cada compasso, envolvido e sentido a cada textura da passagem da música.
Desta vez não será diferente, giramos o disco e seguimos fortes na prescrição: se a música é medicina, o techno é a terapia. As nossas sessões são menos intensas em conversa e mais complexas em sonoridades.
O cabeça de cartaz do nosso aniversário, é o veterano Ben Sims, artista muito acarinhado pelo nosso público e reconhecido por ser um especialista em mixes de 4 decks que se traduzem em ritmos pujantes com a assinatura Hardgroove de UK. O Holandês Deniro, os artistas LXMUSIC John-E e Steve Menta, e os estreantes Carol d’Souza e Gonçalo Martins compõem o restante cartaz.

And lo and behold, 20 years have passed, two decades of history, of countless parties in the most incredible venues with the biggest and best artists in the world, of special moments and always surrounded by those we love and who have always accompanied us.
We like to look back and recognise how far we've come. Music is the protagonist of our story. In a process of metamorphosis, where the ordinary becomes something extraordinary, on a stage of euphoria, where together we have seen so many nights turn into days.
This year we blew out the candles. And for each one we reinforce the desire to keep breathing to the rhythm of the best frequencies. And if in the beginning it was the verb, the verb was Dance. As a means to an end. Because you can't measure time, you live it with every beat, involved and felt with every texture of the music.
This time will be no different, we'll spin the disc and stick to the prescription: if music is medicine, techno is therapy. Our sessions are less intense in conversation and more complex in sound.
The headliner for our anniversary is veteran Ben Sims, an artist much loved by our audience and recognised for being a specialist in 4-deck mixes that translate into punchy rhythms with the signature UK Hardgroove. Dutchman Deniro, LXMUSIC artists John-E and Steve Menta, and newcomers Carol d'Souza and Gonçalo Martins make up the rest of the line-up.

About Ben Sims
Known as the '3 deck master', 'the human abelton' and 'the machine', Ben Sims had his first decks at age ten. Schooled on mix tapes by the likes of Bambaata, DJ Cheese and Froggy, and with his musical roots in reggae, funk, disco, electro, rare groove and hip-hop, by his mid teens he was spinning at after-hours 'blues' houses and a few years later came the acid house explosion with pirate radio and clubs. Skip forward over 15 years and you’ll find he’s one of the UK’s biggest techno exports and a much in demand producer. Ben has been involved in running 9 labels, a couple of which are on hold at present (Theory, Killabite, Hardgroove, Native, Ingoma, Symbolism, Assembly, KB Records inc, Split Music), each one with a distinctive sound, ranging from hardgroovin’ and funk driven techno and house that is the trademark of his DJ sets, via tribal, to melodic electronica. In a genre that propagates sound-a-likes, Ben Sims productions have gained widespread attention and feature regularly in the boxes of his own personal heroes like Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson, Jeff Mills and Rolando, whilst also attracting crossover appeal from the likes of Carl Cox etc. He has remixed Jeff Mills, Green Velvet, Blake Baxter, DJ Funk, Marco Bailey, Chris Liebing, Adam Beyer plus many more and has had his tracks and remixes featured on mix cds by Robert Hood, Francois Kevorkian, DJ Rush, Joey Beltram, Dave Clarke, Umek, Luke Slater, Sven Vath, Richie Hawtin and hundreds more. The past 10 years have seen Ben constantly touring and tearing up dancefloors at legendary clubs & parties like- Liquid room, Tokyo, Sonar, Barcelona, Limelight. NYC, Rex, Paris, Zouk, Singapore, I love Techno, Gent, Tresor, Berlin, Awakenings, Amsterdam and Atomic jam, Birmingham plus hundreds of others with his tight, energetic and skilful brand of 3 deck wizardry. Add this to the 6 deck ROKU sets with Mark Broom, recent ventures into promoting with both the Retro_vert and Split parties causing a storm in London, a monthly internet radio show presented with Alex Downey and a new mix cd lined up for the Slovenian based Matrix series, plus the FREQUENCY 7 dex, fx and laptop shows with Birmingham's Surgeon, pushing the boundaries of DJ sets or as part of the ESSEX RASCALS with Tony Anderson, Mark Broom and Paul Mac dropping everything from House to Funk to Disco, The illusive classics remixing duo KILLA PRODUCTIONS again with Paul Mac, plans for a disco re-edit project and after recent bizarre but genius use of the hit 'remanipulated' in a hardcore lesbian porn movie doing the rounds on the net, you can certainly expect some sexy new beats from mr sims very soon ;-)
