Join us in welcoming Juno Award winning Canadian legend Shari Ulrich back to the Bez Stage. Originally a California girl, Shari Ulrich settled on the west coast of Canada in 1970, and soon launched her life in music as a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist (violin, mandolin, piano, guitar, dulcimer, harmonica). From her time with the legendary Pied Pumkin to The Hometown Band, and on as a solo artist, her career has resulted in 27 albums to date, including collaborations with BTU, UHF, and The High Bar Gang. Along the way, she has garnered 2 JUNO awards and several nominations, an induction into the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame, and a 2014 Canadian Folk Music Award for Songwriter of the Year. An accomplished and dynamic performer, Shari makes any sized audience feel they are in her living room – drawn in by her insightful lyrics, and her engaging warmth and humour. Shari Ulrich Biography
Originally a California girl, long settled on the west coast of Canada, Shari celebrates close to 5 decades as a touring recording artist and multi-instrumentalist (violin, mandolin, piano, guitar, dulcimer, & harmonica). From Pied Pumkin through The Hometown Band, and on as a solo artist and multi-instrumentalist has lead to 25 albums – including her collaboration with solo artists Bill Henderson and Roy Forbes (UHF), Barney Bentall & Tom Taylor (BTU), and more recently The High Bar Gang, a 7 piece bluegrass band with Barney Bentall. Her work has garnered 2 Juno awards, several Juno nominations, an induction into the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame, and a 2014 CFMA for English Songwriter of the Year.
Through it all Shari raised daughter Julia Graff, now 31 with a Masters in Sound Recording from McGill University - an accomplished multi-instrumentlist, music editor in film and television, producer, graphic designer, videographer and photographer.
Shari tours solo, as well as with a trio with Julia and fellow High Bar Gang member Kirby Barber, and occasionally with the addition of Cindy Fairbank on piano.
