Vivian Biography
Vivian is a soft-punk band that formed in Seattle in the summer of 2016. For the first year, the band performed as a three-piece with brothers Tom and James Drake on guitar/vocals and drums, respectively, and Claire Simon on bass. The band performed a handful of shows and recorded a brief three-song demo, released in January 2017. Simon departed ways with the band in March of that year, and the now-duo released their single “Thanks” later that month. The band recruited Don Pick on bass and Noel Teves on guitar in May, 2017, and was back on the show circuit the following June. After a few months of gigging around Seattle, the band buckled down in their practice space to record a full-length album. “They Lived” was self-released online in January, 2018 with a physical release the following March. In the near future, the band plans on bringing their thoughtful lyrics and guitar-focused songs to the surrounding Pacific Northwest with a goal to release more recordings in the new year.
