About this concert
On the site of the upcoming Kerrville Folk Festival, absolute hallowed ground for Texas singer-songwriters, arrives a special eclipse weekend. As at the main fest, folks can camp out and enjoy a range of Texas-emphasis sounds. Austin reps include Good Looks, THEBROSFRESH, Jomo & the Possum Posse, Phoebe Hunt, and the Flyin’ A’s, as well as a Sunday presentation by solar scientists from the University of Hawaii. On Monday, local psychedelic cult sun worshippers Golden Dawn Arkestra appropriately take the total eclipse set. Passes are available for Monday, two days, and the full weekend, starting at $100. – Rachel Rascoe

Phoebe Hunt Biography
”Hunt certainly doesn’t neglect her roots, but she doesn’t wallow in the dirt of her influences, either.”
- Rolling Stone
On the heels of 2021's acclaimed "Neither One Of Us Is Wrong" Phoebe Hunt is excited to release "Nothing Else Matters" in July of 2023 (Thirty Tigers). The album of solo fiddle and voice marks a departure for Hunt, whose previous projects have showcased her skill as a bandleader and collaborator. Yet it is also a joyful return to her foundations.
Whereas the fiddle and voice are often the final elements, or icing on the cake of a full band recording, this project explores what it sounds like when the fiddle and vocals represent the whole cake. Drawing from 30 years spent studying the violin/fiddle, Hunt interweaves her classical upbringing with Appalachian Old Time, Texas Swing, and a maturity of songwriting that creates an unfiltered, raw expression dripping with palpable vulnerability.
