Direct from the Sydney Opera House and Carnegie Hall on his World tour via the EU and USA, join us for a captivating performance by internationally-rewarded Belgian pianist and composer Daniel Verstappen, together with violinist Beth Georgiou. Performing at the fabulous Dr John Gallagher Concert Chamber, Daniel and Beth perform stunning renditions of famous classic masterpieces, such as The Hall of the Mountain King, Danse Macabre, Swan Lake, and neoclassical compositions from Verstappen’s album, Reconnection. Blending classical elegance with contemporary innovation, Daniel Verstappen has performed at notable events, to the Belgian King and Queen at the World Expo in Dubai, and with international artists such as Andrea Bocelli and Ennio Morricone. Daniel aims to connect the generations and highlight the classical piano in modern and innovative ways. Daniel and Beth will be joined onstage by emerging musicians from the University of Waikato, and local high schools.
