“A stunning debut album” MAIL ON SUNDAY, You Mag
Fiona Bevan is a multi-platinum Canadian-British singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who grew up in Suffolk, UK, with a sweet, fiery voice and a soulful, cinematic indie folk sound, creating "startling odysseys that suggest Erykah Badu, Joanna Newsom and Kate Bush spine-tinglingly joined" (The Guardian). Fiona has just released her new single ‘Peaches’, from her forthcoming Girl With Telescope EP.
Written, performed and produced by Fiona, the EP is an emotional, organic, driving, uplifting, psychedelic journey. Her previous EP, ‘Wild Angels Sweet Demons’, was produced by Grammy award-winning engineer Robin Baynton (Mumford And Sons, Laura Marling, Isaac Gracie), released independently, and went straight to number 2 in France, and number 7 in both the UK and Canada iTunes singer-songwriter charts. The EP was an eagerly awaited follow up to Fiona’s debut studio album, 'Talk To Strangers', which was one of iTunes “best of 2014” and was released in UK, Europe, Australia and Japan in 2014 and in USA and Canada in 2015 in conjunction with Universal Canada.
Playing live, Fiona has toured Canada with Hawksley Workman, and in the UK with Ruston Kelly and The Wandering Hearts, after they met onstage playing at The Bluebird in Nashville; Fiona has also toured with Ed Sheeran, Nick Mulvey, Ingrid Michaelson, Adam Ant, and has played onstage accompanying Anoushka Shankar and Nitin Sawhney. In 2018 she was a judge for the Ivor Novello Awards. Fiona spent lockdown creating “Red Velvet Sessions”, a world-class HD livestream theatre in her living room with acclaimed Scottish singer-songwriter Adam Beattie.
In between releases Fiona has been working as a multi-platinum songwriter, writing hit songs for other artists including the award-winning number one song 'Little Things' for One Direction with Ed Sheeran, plus singles for LIGHTS, Lewis Capaldi, Aurora, Tom Walker, Billie Marten, Kylie Minogue, Backstreet Boys, Joy Crookes, 5 Seconds Of Summer, Mika, Matteo Bocelli, Natalie Prass and Matthew E. White. She has also recently been writing with Nile Rodgers, Lukas Nelson, Amos Lee and Luke Sital-Singh, and is the face of the Credits Due Campaign working with Björn Ulvaeus from Abba.
Fiona played a summer of UK festivals including official showcases at Manchester Folk Festival and Great Escape, plus Isle Of Wight, Victorious, Cheltenham Jazz, Timber, and Smugglers, and has also played Red Rooster and How The Light Gets In, and also toured the UK in 2022 as a double headline bill with Adam Beattie.
