SunSp.t Biography
SunSp.t is the project of Keyboardist/Producer/Songwriter Joe MacPhail. Live, the SunSp.t set combines keyboards, a beat machine, and vocals in a hybrid songwriter/instrumentalist/producer sound. The set moves back and forth between songwriting and instrumental beats/compositions.
Works: SunSp.t released the album Psychical in 2021 through Sleepycat Records (sleepycatrec.com). This self-recorded album showcases the Rock, Funk, and Electronic Songwriter sides of SunSp.t. A record called Piano Improvisations from Quarantine series is hosted at joemacphail.bandcamp.com. Back in 2019 SunSp.t released ArtAttack, a mellower Jazz/Folk album hosted on the Chapel Hill Public Library's platform, tracksmusiclibrary.com .
Joe has been performing in the Triangle area of North Carolina for the past seven years, active in the Folk, Jazz, and Jam/Rock spheres. Joe has performed with dozens of bands and played on over a hundred albums. Joe has played hundreds of gigs at Festivals, Concert Series, Breweries, at traditional Bar/Music Venues, and on Television.
