MOTOROWL Biography

After the release of their debut album “OM GENERATOR” on Century Media Records, the five-piece powerhouse had an intense tour schedule with bands like Solstafir, High on Fire and All Them Witches.

Directly after that, they played festival gigs at Burg Herzberg Festival, European Desertfest, Siegen Freak Valley Festival or Turock Open Air, among others.

In summer 2018 they released their second longplayer “ATLAS”, also via Century Media, produced with Charlie Paschen (Coogans Bluff) and mixed by their longtime friend Dan Swanö. With this album, MOTOROWL teamed up with Long Distance Calling to tour Europe for 5 weeks. In 2019, the five Thuringians then went largely solo to play some festivals in the summer and their one tour of Scandinavia and Germany in the winter.

When the contract with Century Media was terminated in early 2020, the five guys decided to acquire adequate skills in producing rock music themselves and started recording about two hours of demo material, which they recorded independently at Off the Roads Studio in 2021 and early 2022. A 7” featuring the new single “SHAPESHIFT HOOLIGANS” and the Rush cover “LIMELIGHT” was self-released to media acclaim in early 2022.

The new album is called “THIS HOUSE HAS NO CENTER” and it´s content deals with the mind game of a person who, in search of the ultimate truth, finds that truth can never be comprehended without perspective. Lyrically, it´s a house without a center, a room without an end. Visually, the whole thing is consolidated by a house “thrown together” from several architectural eras and located in an empty space. We developed a visual concept together with the artworker “Weeem” and the directors Lena Kömmling, Paul Schlesier and Marie Ronniger. Both music videos for the songs “Future Nostalgia” and “All Bells Ring”, which are set in our fictional reality and each contain cameos by the band, are also set in this reality developed by the band itself. Following this, an intimate live session of the band is to be released, featuring the title track “No Center”.
