One year later, ELA is back at representing Lisbon on the global Earth Night movement. Created by DJs for Climate Action in 2018 the initiative has been uniting the global electronic music community, raising awareness for climate action. In the past year, 23 simultaneous events happened in 10 different countries. None of them had C02 emissions due to artist airplane travels, more than 100 kg of plastic were spared, and 3 happenings were equipped with solar-powered DJ booths. PROGRAM: Talk Session: Direct Local Action We’ve invited local climate action key figures. This time, we’ll be talking about Direct Climate Action in Lisbon and Portugal, presenting the ATERRA ,Climáximo, and Safari movements. There you will be informed about the next actions and how to participate. Human Gardens’ by Medus.a (Climate consciousness through live tattoo) A large scale project involving multiple bodies. People who decide to be part of this collective concept are tattooed with drawings of local endemic plants, whose characteristics are essential for the ecosystem where they are found. This way, a collection of walking scientific illustrations will be created, raising concerns that move people and touch their consciousness. On this occasion, a person will be tattooed live during the event, and the drawing will consist of a plant essential to the survival of ecosystems in Portugal. 'Primavera Elástica’ by Rita Grancho (Art installation) On this Earth Night x ELA, Rita Grancho will design an installation that will involve the whole dancefloor. Taking inspiration from a universe of animated and personified natures, she will use the trash generated by the city’s chaos to recreate a garden of refuge, peace, and freedom, with psychedelic and organic tones. Music (Organic, natural and psychedelic soundscapes within the ELA spectrum) Similarly to Rita Grancho’s installation, DJ’s and producers will add psychedelic, organic, and natural influences to their music, taking us to different landscapes and places of our planet. Furthermore, all artists will be challenged to produce a track to be played at the event, using the Climate Sample Pack, which was created by DJs for Climate Action and Greenpeace with unique recordings of natural sounds from all over the world. -- ESSENTIAL INFOS Tickets allow you to enter the event until 21h — in case you need to come later, you’ll have to purchase a General Admission (entry anytime) ticket Delicious Vegetarian food available at the event to keep the nutrition levels on the dancefloor Special ‘Earth Night’ cocktail.
