Tom Webber Biography
Tom Webber picked up a guitar at the age of 12 and his career as a performer started as a busker in Oxford when he was just 15.
From years spending time with his grandfather listening to anything from The Beatles and Beach Boys to Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan, he started out playing covers, but Tom’s sound soon filled out with both classic & contemporary influences such as Sam Cooke, Bob Dylan, Jake Bugg & Paolo Nutini and has developed into one of the most recognisable new young singer songwriters.
2022 saw Tom perform at some of the biggest festivals on the acoustic stages such as Glastonbury, Isle of Wight and Truck with Glastonbury giving him the title of “Demo of the Year” for 2022.
2023 saw Tom spend more time in the studio and continue to hone his writing skills with a week at the Chris Difford Writing Week hosted by the Buddy Holly Foundation and with his own headline dates, live dates with the likes of Scouting for Girls, Sofar Shows, Pizza Express Live amongst others, it was another busy year.
“He’s great….” John Giddings, Isle of Wight Festival
“A Class Act” - Dave Gilyeat BBC Introducing Oxford
“Imagine a soundscape starting in the Texas flatlands, driving through Arkansas and Shreveport before rolling into Tennessee with Telecaster hooks and a clear tenor voice that can echo Sam Cooke - that’s what Tom Webber sounds like - echoes of the past, wrapped up and made new"- Jonh Ingham
