The Cruel Birds are a Brighton-based soul four-piece inspired by the Memphis, Chicago and New Orleans soul artists of the 60’s and early 70’s and the studio bands of Stax, Chess and Fame Records. Featuring Susanna Alce on vocals with David Shortall on guitar, Pieter May on bass and Mike Cruickshank on drums.
