About this concert
Miranda Sex Garden
This creatively named band was formed when the members were studying vocal music together and started busking in the streets of London. Madra, their first album, is largely a capella, and composed entirely of traditional British songs. Their later releases -- like 1993's Suspiria and 1994's Fairytales of Slavery -- saw the group moving in a more rock/industrial direction, pitting their smooth voices upon layers of distortion, feedback, and heavy drums. Carnival of Souls was released in summer 2000.

Miranda Sex Garden Biography
Miranda Sex Garden are a band formed in London, UK, in 1990, currently on an extended hiatus. Originally a trio of madrigal singers comprising Kelly McCusker, Jocelyn West and main vocalist Katharine Blake. The first album, "Madra", was entirely a cappella, with the songs all based on traditional English medieval verse. For their second release, the mini album "Iris", the sound evolved into a blend of their madrigal-styled vocals with sounds reminiscent of gothic rock, darkwave, ethereal wave and industrial music. It was at this point the band line up expanded to include Ben Golomstock and Trevor Sharpe providing percussion, drums, guitars and organs.
