The Slackers

I'm on the guest list for the show of october 12 in Belgium. SO I can't say anything about this particular show.... but I did interview David Hillyard of the band recently and they were very motivated to start the tour. All 4 bands were great! The mosh pit was mostly civil! A good tone was had by all.

Wer die Slackers einmal live gesehen, besser erlebt hat, wird's nicht vergessen! So eine Spielfreude auf der Bühne ist einfach unvergleichlich, durch die Bank weg. Jeder einzelne von den Jungs ist klasse, sie singen und spielen sich immer wieder in die Herzen des bunt gemischten Publikums und bringen selbst müde Beine in Bewegung. Das Knust ist eine gut passende Location, wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und sind mit breitem Lächeln nach Hause gefahren!

Wenn man beim Betreten des Clubs bereits von der Band begrüßt wird - sinngemäß "da seid ihr ja endlich, wir haben auf euch gewartet und können jetzt anfangen", das auch noch vom besten und gleichzeitig "dreckigstem" Posaunisten (im besten Sinne gemeint!), dann kann so ein Abend nur absolut nach vorne losgehen! Ein kurzer Plausch mit der Band, ab ins Getümmel und die Jungs auf die Bühne - Start mit Mary Mary/ Fried Chicken, Married Girl und es ging heiter weiter. Man merkte echte Spielfreude, Glen Pine war in Hochform, Agent Jay sowie alle anderen brachten uns von einem Jubel in den nächsten. Das Molotow war eigentlich zu klein und eng (Luftnot inklusive), das Personal aber freundlich und offen. Meine Frau und ich sind mit einem Dauerlächeln nach Hause gefahren und hatten einen insgesamt tollen Abend mit einer der wohl besten Bands der Welt - und ich durfte Glen Pine persönlich meine aufrichtige Bewunderung entgegen bringen. Ein Mann, der es schafft, mir als Heteromann mit seinen gepusteten und gesungenen Tönen immer und immer wieder glatt die Beine wegzuziehen! Wir lieben euch und freuen uns schon auf den nächsten Gig...

Always the funniest show of the year! So glad they were back after the long break! Good times had by all! Let’s hope we get The Queen Boat next year so we can have all of us in the room. Until December #bestskabandever!

Tight, awesome music, and amazing sound. Wish the opening acts were even half as well mixed.

Always an awesome show. That night though they were on another level! Last night of the year and tour. They brought it all the way. Love them Slackers!!

The Slackers were great as always! Both the opening bands were fun and brought good energy (Control This! and Southern Ska Syndicate)

The Aggrolites and Viernes 13 were amazing. I was really looking forward to the Slackers, but they were pretty disappointing. They enjoyed hearing themselves talk as little to much.

Amazing gig, The Slackers have to be one of the most hard working, passionate bands around. Great rapport with the crowd, non stop ska, reggae, rock steady...the whole Slackers experience is a real heart warming experience!

Great show. Crowd made is super...except for drunk moron that bashed someone in men’s bathroom. Jerk.

This was my favorite of their shows by far. Great energy in the crowd. Had a blast!! Crescent Ballroom is one of my favorite concert venues to see shows at.

Awe-struck at the performance of these guys! Been waiting for a year to see them and it was one of the best shows I've been to.

This is my 17th time seeing The Slackers. This is the first time I have seen them add dub to their live show. more than dub... Maybe even 60's and 70's psychadelic. They played "Go Go Go," of their mew self titled album. The outro reminds me of the Abbey Road medley. It was beautiful

The slackers were amazing as usual last night! Love Vic! Tracer bullet and green room rockers were phenomenal as well!

The slackers have once again brought the soulful funk they are famous for. God damn I love this band

Great band and performance as always. Way oversold venue. Too packed with too many a holes. Sad to say, we left early because of the crowd.

So much fun! These guys still sound amazing. I'm so happy in got a chance to see them after 15 years.
