Mike Gurrieri

Mike Gurrieri is a Melbourne based DJ, radio presenter, label owner & music lover who has established himself as one of the most diverse & in-demand selectors on the Melbourne circuit. Priding himself on continually pushing new sounds as well as incorprating music from the past, Mike’s sets are always full of surprises. Since cutting his teeth on the local rave scene in 2001, Mike has built up an incredibly diverse record collection over the years, incorprating elements of jazz, soul, disco, reggae, hip hop & electronic music from all over the world. Mike is renowned for his eclectic approach and being able to seamlessly incorporate many genres into a single set. Aside from holding down a long list of local residencies, Mike is also no stranger to festival gigs, having performed many over the years including: Meredith Music Festival, Melbourne Festival, Earthcore, Strawberry Fields, Melbourne International Jazz Festival, So Frenchy So Chic In The Park, AWME, Summadayze & many more. Mike’s sounds can also be heard on a weekly basis on his radio show ‘Mystic Brew’ which airs every Tuesday morning at 9am on Melbourne community station PBS 106.7FM. Previous guests on the show include: Thundercat, Kamasi Washington, Osunlade, Jose James, Michael Kiwanuka, Gregory Porter, The Internet, Hiatus Kaiyote, Jordan Rakei & Carl Cox. Aside from DJing, Mike Gurrieri is also responsible for the Equinox Recordings label, which has released some of the most exciting contemporary music to come out of Melbourne in recent years including releases from The Raah Project, Tulalah & Hiatus Kaiyote’s debut EP.
