About this concert
Husky is back with a new record and an east coast tour to celebrate. The first Australian band to be signed to iconic US label Sub Pop Records (Nirvana, Fleet Foxes, Father John Misty), Husky went on to release four albums to international acclaim and toured the world many times over.‘Deep Sleeper’ will draw you in quickly and make you want to stay a long time. Husky Gawenda and keys player/collaborator/cousin/kindred spirit Gideon Preiss took on all the recording duties this time around - Gawenda wrote the songs, they produced together, Preiss engineered and mixed. The result is something more raw and intimate, more stripped back and immediate, more in the footsteps of folk heroes like Neil Young, and contemporary legends like Andy Shauf, both of whom Husky has shared stages with.Husky and Gideon will be joined by their stellar band Holly Thomas (drums, vocals), Hollie Joyce (Bass, vocals) and Jules Pascoe (guitar). They will bring the new album to life and play a selection of favourites from each of their previous albums.Their last tour sold out, so don’t miss this one!

Husky Biography
"There's a whole new buzz around Husky" - Craig Matheison, The Age
“Husky pack a punch with their magical, hypnotic folk indie-rock melodies and Punchbuzz is filled with catchy but dark lyrics. “ – themusic.com.au
“A wonderfully moody shift into atmospheric indie rock that serves as the perfect next step for the accomplished duo” – Tonedeaf
Psychedelic-folk-dreamers Husky return to Australia after winning hearts globally with their critically acclaimed third LP Punchbuzz. Clocking up over 4 million streams on Spotify with single ‘Late Night Store’, the ARIA nominated band and winners of the 2014 Vanda and Young Songwriting competition spent much of 2017 touring globally and selling out shows in Melbourne, Netherlands, London and Germany.
Claiming Double J’s coveted feature album in the week of its release, Punchbuzz is the band’s rockiest album to date, with it’s lush and dreamy production full of 70’s folk synth soundscapes carrying Husky Gawenda’s signature voice as he sings poetically about another time and place where ancient gods and mystics reign.
Husky will be playing a string of intimate shows at intimate and iconic rock venues around the country in April as part of their ‘Walking in Your Sleep’ single tour.
