About Rolo Plays Music

Rolo began performing as a drummer for a progressive rock band called Ear Theory in 2010 for a few years in Richmond, Virginia. Eventually moving to Austin Texas, guitar became more prominent. In 2018, a friend convinced him to start singing and playing alternative and pop rock covers and the duo started Good Enough for a House Party band which would later include his brother and another friend, Steve. In 2021, Rolo found the song Clay Pigeons by Blaze Foley, and fell in love with the country western and folk style of music due to the expressive story telling in the style of music, it was also the most comfortable and easy to fall into guitar playing and singing style to him. This summer he wrote the song "Waiting for the Day" as a result of thoughts and experiences from the Marines. In 2023 Rolo and Steve started "She Called us Outlaws" and performed various open mics in Austin Texas, frequenting the Twin Creeks Icehouse. By Summer of 2023, life events took Rolo to Colorado where he currently performs in small settings and larger venues. While still exploring his own style of song writing, he enjoys keeping the old songs alive.
