“The Music Of The Band" Presenting this show since 2000 at the request from Alan Pepper owner of The Bottom Line in NYC This special show with All-star Woodstock Band – Professor Louie & The Crowmatix, perform The Band repertoire, learned directly from The Band and songs Louie created with The Band including their comeback hit Atlantic City, he collaborated with The Band for over fifteen years. Grammy Nominated All-star Band Professor Louie & The Crowmatix began as the studio-backing band for Aaron Professor Louie’s musical productions for The Band. Rick Danko, bass player and singer of The Band christened him -Professor Louie - due to his work with The Band and it’s individual members. Professor Louie has emerged in the music industry as the torchbearer of the true spirit of American Roots Music. Collaborating with The Band for over fifteen years – Co-producing the Band’s last three CD’s in the 90’s. The show will present a diverse set list with songs from The Band, Bob Dylan, Professor Louie & The Crowmatix original & blues songs, from their 16 studio CD’s on The Woodstock Records Label. Professor Louie & The Crowmatix latest recording Strike Up The Band released in 2022 on The Woodstock Records label has received fantastic reviews and has been on The Roots Music Radio Charts in the top 30 since it’s Feb 2022 release, their single Work It Out has been # 1 on the NY State charts. They have released sixteen studio CD’s on The Woodstock Records label They hold a permanent place in The Canada South Blues Museum. Recipients of The Robert H. Chambers Award for Excellence in the Traditional Arts from Common Ground on the Hill and have been inducted in The New York State Blues Hall of Fame ~ The Crowmatix ~ Professor Louie (keys-accordion,vocals) collaborated with The Band 17 years. John Platania (guitar-vocals) great performances with Van Morrison. Gary Burke (drums) performed with Bob Dylan’s The Rolling Thunder Review. Miss Marie (vocals-percussionist-keys) preformed, recorded with Levon Helm, Rick Danko, Garth Hudson. Frank Campbell (bass-vocals) Levon Helm’s MD with the Woodstock All-stars.

The show & performance by Professor Louie & The Crowmatix featuring Miss Marie and band members was fantastic. Play d 21 songs with 2 encores for total of 23. Started at 8 and ended around 10:20 with about 20 minutes break after first 11 songs. Superb shoe. Happy to be there. Overall rating: 10 for sure

Professor Louie & The Crowmatix began as the studio backing band for Aaron “Professor Louie’s” musical productions for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductees, The Band. Rick Danko christened him Professor Louie due to his work and friendship with The Band. This GRAMMY-nominated Woodstock, NY group plays 150 shows a year in the US and worldwide. They have performed at the Thunder Bay, London, Windsor, Tondor, Falcon Ridge Festivals, Sellersville Theater, BB Kings, NYC, House Of Blues, LA. Professor Louie has performed twice on The Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise. Professor Louie & The Crowmatix repertoire is steeped in rock ‘n’ roll, blues, Gospel and American roots music, they have 12 studio CD’s on The Woodstock Records label. Their latest recording, Crowin' The Blues will be released, Feb 17, 2017. In 2016 their CD, Music From Hurley Mountain, was voted best concept record & group by Radio Crystal Blue.
