About this concert
For the first time, Jono's Mate Sheep bring their melancholic philosophical to Brisbane alongside an epic line-up at Stranded Bar.After beginning 2019 by scrounging together an incredibly rough acoustic set, Jono's Mate Sheep have evolved into an epic melancholic four-piece reminiscent of The Church, The National, Frightened Rabbit, and Ruby Fields. In 2023/24 they shared stages with Kim Churchill, Money Boys, The Bennies, Purple Zain, Power Drill, and Keaper, embarked on their first Victorian tour, and headlined their own sold out shows across the Gold Coast and Northern NSW. The Sheep have a range of new tracks among their repertoire as they build towards their first EP release since 2020. Joining them are special guests MONSTERA, Byron Bay's Rattled Snake, and Pushing Daisies.Tickets $10 pre-sale, $15 on the door. Doors at 6.30pm.

MONSTERA Biography

Say hello to your new favourite band! MONSTERA are an indie pop group based in Brisbane, Australia. Bonded by the trials and tribulations of early adulthood, guitarist and vocalist Jasmine Ruane (18), lead guitarist Harris Aldridge (18), bassist Liam McDonough (22), and drummer Rohnan Calvia (18) formed the band in January of 2021. Influenced by Australian greats like Lime Cordiale and Ocean Alley, MONSTERA fuses rock influenced pop with touches of modern reggae ― music you can’t possibly sit still to! The band are currently gigging as well as recording their debut single “Sanity” set to be released in late 2021, and are fast establishing their place in Brisbane’s music scene.
