Winner of NBCs The Voice, acclaimed singer, actor, and songwriter ALISAN PORTER, marks the release of her new EP entitled The Ride with a special concert at Catalina Jazz Club, Hollywood! She debuted on Star Search at age 5 singing Over the Rainbow, has performed on Broadway in A Chorus Line, and went on to starring roles in Television and Film; including the John Hughes 1991 classic Curly Sue. As her own music developed, Alisan fell in love with works by artists Joni Mitchell, Linda Ronstadt, Pat Benatar, Patty Griffin, Mariah Carey and more. These artists and her experience on the Great White Way influenced her own songwriting and vocal phrasing. In THE RIDE, Alisan Porter continues to explore Americana music bathed in distinctive and rich threads of country, soul, and rock, matching her powerful country-soul vocals with melodic guitars, mandolins and violins, delicate acoustic piano, and sweet harmonies.Her songwriting on The Ride mines the emotional rollercoaster of the music industry (The Ride), sharing her heart and fanning the flames of desire in a modern union (Meant For Me, See In The Dark), and speaks to the challenges of keeping tradition, faith and understanding within her walls (Rivers Dry, Bleedin).
