About this concert
Echo Wants Her Voice Back to Release New Single "Crimson Sun" on April 19th London, UK - Emerging indie artist Echo Wants Her Voice Back is set to captivate audiences once again with the release of her latest single, "Crimson Sun," on Friday, April 19th. Following this anticipated release, Echo will take the stage on Tuesday, April 23rd, for an unforgettable performance at The Grace in London, presented by Success Express Music and WBLive. Joining Echo for this special evening are musicians Adam Green and Reuben Ard, along with the exceptional singer/songwriters Edmund Jeffery and Stevie Reed. Tickets for this exclusive event are available for purchase here. "Crimson Sun" serves as the follow-up single to Echo's EP "Bad," offering listeners a heartfelt exploration of the highs and lows inherent in relationships with its stripped-down melody. With its acoustic charm and poignant lyrics, this ballad performed by Adam Green on guitar, and Eleni Skarpari and Maddy Hamilton on vocals, paints a vivid portrait of the bliss and tranquility found in genuine connection. Reminiscent of a soothing lullaby or a heartfelt ode to desire, “Crimson Sun” is all about yearning, but it's not your run-of-the-mill love song. Instead, the lyrics feel like an intimate heart-to-heart conversation. "Bad," Echo's second EP, features collaborations with Adam Green on guitar and Maddy Hamilton on cello and vocals. Recorded and mixed by Angela Turner at My Century Productions and mastered by Mike Connaris, co-founder of Mcasso Music. Echo Wants Her Voice Back Biography

Echo Wants Her Voice Back is a London-based singer songwriter, whose style has been described as "folk noir" and whose experimental sound has been compared to PJ Harvey and Bjork. In November 2015, after a successful crowdfunding campaign, she self-released her debut album entitled “Heart of Stone”, which was inspired by her refugee father’s emotional pain caused by the 1974 Turkish invasion of Cyprus. This led to a prime slot performance at 2016's SXSW, festivals and radio play. Echo is also an actor and writer. Her acting background includes roles in short films, commercials, music videos, theatre productions and voice overs. Recent releases include ballads "Laisse-Moi", "Quicksand" and folk noir pop track "I Knew I'd Find You."

Fast forward to today, she has released a series of music videos on her YouTube channel, alongside a constant stream of updates on her social media. Her 5th single "Mermaids" was released in November, 2019 in collaboration with Paris based rapper/producer The Spectre. On the 28th of February, 2020 her song “Flow” was released - a piano ballad recorded/mixed in London by Mcasso studios, Mike Connaris, with an official music video directed by Seven Hills Movies, that premiered on the 6th of March.

Reviews:

"A natural charisma surrounds Eleni whilst she performs, and she captivates the audience with her fantastic vocal performance and melodic backing, which is why we would recommend grabbing tickets for ‘Echo wants her voice back’ as soon as you can!" Music Earth Rise, Feb. 2015

"folk noir artiste Eleni Skarpari... opened with an experimental, PJ Harvey-ish number called Gone For Good, complete with an extended acapella intro. That was followed by You Left Me Here, which called to mind comparisons with Lorde and Bjork and which made great use of alternating loud and soft sections." Songwriting Magazine, UK, Feb. 2015

"As a lyricist, Eleni wraps herself around you; lyrically weaving her words with both precision and passion. ….Eleni captures your attention with a confidence that she has arrived home. She really commands the space she is in and as the music played I couldn’t help but think of Radiohead…and the lyrics… Everything in it’s right place…"
Music Earth Rise, Nov. 2014

“Female acoustic troubadour plus guitar toter with fragile breathy voice….most pretty yet a little noir-ish really. A bit psychedelic even. Acoustic noir.” Dublin Castle, January 2014

"Incredibly sharp lyrics and a phenomenal voice from acoustic songwriter Eleni Skarpari." Chaos Theory Nov. 2013

Pink Shorts (co-written with Labrini Grigoriadou) was selected by Tom Robinson for BBC6 radio. Eleni has further collaborated with artists such a Jack Harris (renowed London based folk musician), Raven’s Arm ("All This Time" official music video available on youtube), New York based Nick Africano, Paris based rapper The Spectre and has written music for short films.
